Makefield Women's Association | Yardley, PA
MWA is a local nonprofit composed of a diverse group of women dedicated to raising funds and providing services to individuals in need. MWA supports programs that benefit both the local community and worthy humanitarian organizations.

Each year, members select a group of local nonprofits to be our Annual Beneficiaries through a nominating and voting process.  With these organizations in mind, MWA hosts fundraising events and collects donations for the year.  100% of the funds raised from events go directly to our beneficiaries.

Members of MWA not only raise funds for local nonprofits, but we also support these organizations through donation drives and volunteer work – an essential component of MWA’s mission to serve the community.  Members build relationships and stay connected through service and social events.  Volunteering together or enjoying a night out with MWA allows like-minded people who share the same passion for service in their community to connect.

Our History

Makefield Women’s Association (MWA) was formerly known as The Yardley-Makefield Jaycees Auxiliary, formed in the early 1960s. In 1985, the National Jaycees opened its membership to women, and all Jaycee auxiliaries were dissolved.  We opted to remain a separate organization, changing our name to The Yardley-Makefield Women’s Auxiliary and ultimately to Makefield Women’s Association.  Since 1985, we have continued to serve our community through fundraising and support to appointed non-profit organizations.
