Makefield Women’s Association Serving Bucks County & Beyond
As part of our 45th-anniversary initiative, the Makefield Women’s Association continues to give back through our 45 Acts of Service, a yearlong commitment to supporting individuals, families, and nonprofit organizations throughout Bucks County, PA, and surrounding communities. During March, our members completed six Acts of Service, each one rooted in compassion, generosity, and a shared mission to make a meaningful difference.
March Service and Donation Projects
Supporting Animals in Need
Members donated pet food and essential supplies to the Women’s Animal Center, the nation’s first animal shelter. Since 1869, this organization has been advocating for homeless animals, and we are proud to support their ongoing mission of care and adoption.

Providing Essentials for Foster Care Youth
Through donations of clothing, undergarments, and diapers, MWA members supported the Fostering Hope Philly-NE Foster-Share Closet. These items are distributed free of charge to children and families experiencing foster care, helping meet immediate needs with dignity and compassion.
Fighting Food Insecurity Locally
An MWA volunteer team joined efforts at the Morrisville Presbyterian Food Center, packing food for families facing food insecurity in Lower Bucks County, PA, and the greater Trenton, NJ area. This fully volunteer-run organization depends on community support to serve local households.
Supporting Survivors Through Donation
Members contributed gently used clothing, shoes, and accessories to the In Full Swing Thrift Store, which supports the mission of A Woman’s Place. These donations help provide resources and support to individuals and families impacted by domestic violence in Bucks County.
Serving Meals with Compassion
MWA members volunteered at the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen, serving meals and assisting in the kitchen during a lunch service shift. TASK provides over 12,000 meals each week, offering nourishment and hope to those in need.
Giving the Gift of Life
In support of the American Red Cross, members participated in a blood donation drive. With someone in the United States needing blood every two seconds, these donations play a critical role in saving lives.
A Continued Commitment to Community Service
Each Act of Service represents more than a single moment—it reflects a larger commitment to showing up, giving back, and strengthening the communities we call home. Through ongoing volunteer work, donations, and partnerships with local nonprofits, the Makefield Women’s Association remains dedicated to creating a lasting impact across Bucks County and neighboring areas. As we continue our 45 Acts of Service journey, we are grateful for the opportunity to serve—and inspired by the collective generosity of our members.
