Though I was born in Salt Lake City, I’ve spent most of my life in Bucks County. Having worked in Transportation Logistics for over 20 years, I decided to change careers and have become a licensed PA/NJ realtor. This change holds many advantages, one being that I have more time to give back to the community. That’s when I found MWA. As a new member, I wanted to try out different activities during my first year. I’ve particularly enjoyed making meals and getting to know people through Caring For Friends. It’s true when they say, “Many hands make light work,” as we were able to prepare over 150 meals for local patrons in just under an hour. This truly emphasizes the benefit of collaboration and teamwork. Most notably, I am gratified to contribute to A Woman’s Place, as it provides a safe haven for women who feel powerless. One of my most memorable experiences was volunteering at the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen. I spent the morning making fish patties and seasoning chicken; it was staggering to me to realize how much food is prepared daily and how many are underfed right in our backyard.
Competitive at heart, I really enjoy attending the trivia socials. I’ve gotten to know many of the members in this way, and I’m delighted to find that we’ve a lot in common. I found that giving back to the community is so rewarding that I decided to become more deeply involved, and I have joined the board as External Vice President. As our membership grows, I can’t wait to see what’s next.
