Thank you for being so interested in positively impacting our community! We’re thrilled to connect with individuals like you who are eager to volunteer and serve those in need. Below are five fantastic ways to get involved in Bucks County, PA. Each opportunity offers unique ways to contribute, and we’re confident you’ll find one that resonates with you.

1. Join Makefield Women’s Association

Makefield Women’s Association (MWA) is a Bucks County nonprofit organization in Lower Makefield, PA. Our group comprises diverse women dedicated to raising funds and providing services to needy individuals.

Each year, members select a group of local nonprofits to be Annual Beneficiaries through a nominating and voting process.  With these organizations in mind, MWA hosts fundraising events and collects donations for the year.  At year-end, all proceeds are distributed to the beneficiaries to support their continued service and contributions to the community.

Members of MWA not only raise funds for local nonprofits but also support these organizations in various engaging activities. From donation drives to volunteer work, there’s always something exciting happening at MWA.

At MWA, we believe in the power of community and the strength of shared values. We invite any woman in Bucks County, PA, or surrounding areas to join us in serving our community. We meet the first Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. in Yardley, PA.  To attend a meeting, email us at President@MakefieldWomensAssocation.org

2. Pack meals for Caring for Friends

For over 50 years, Caring for Friends’ mission has been to provide food and friendship to seniors, kids, and adults in the 5-county Philadelphia region. Sharing Food and Friendship with Unserved and Underserved People and Communities

Pack Meals: Caring for Friends provides materials for making meals at home. You provide the contents, the food, and the time to drop them off at a local food pantry. You can make and donate as many as you’d like. Caring neighbors regularly prepare many meals in the comfort and safety of their homes throughout the year. Some are cooked in a community kitchen by a faith-based group or a group of friends at their home!

3. Host a food drive for Bucks County Housing Group (BCHG)

Rally your friends and family to support your local food bank by setting up a Food Drive. BCHG distributes over 179,000 pounds of food and serves over 113,000 community members annually. This all equates to millions of dollars in food that we give out in service of the Bucks County community.  Food insecurity is rising, and donations from neighbors like you are critical to the pantry’s success.

What you need:

  • Containers/boxes for donated items
  • a designated drop-off location
  • start and end dates
  • publicity (via social media, email, flyers, etc.).

    What to ask for:

  • Unexpired, sealed, healthy food from all five food groups, like
  • Protein such as peanut butter, canned chicken or salmon, canned beans, lentils, and peas
  • Fruits and vegetables that do not require refrigeration, such as canned fruit or 100% fruit juice, tomatoes, carrots, bananas, and oranges
  • Dairy such as shelf-stable milk and milk alternatives like oat or soy milk
  • Grains such as rice, quinoa, pasta, oatmeal, and breakfast cereal

Where to Donate: Penndel Pantry at 349 Durham Road, Langhorne, PA 19047 | Donation hours: Tuesdays from 10am-12pm or Doylestown Pantry at 470 Old Dublin Pike, Doylestown, PA 18901 | Donation hours: Wednesdays from 1:30-3:30

4. Provide a Day of Service to A Woman’s Place

                      • Cleaning
