Keeping Our Community Clean: MWA’s Ongoing Commitment to Edgewood Road
For over 20 years, the Makefield Women’s Association (MWA) has proudly partnered with the Lower Makefield Township (LMT) Roads Department to help keep our community beautiful. As part of PennDOT’s Adopt-A-Highway program, MWA members volunteer their time to maintain a 3-mile stretch of roadway along Edgewood Road in Lower Makefield Township.
Four to six times a year—weather permitting—our dedicated volunteers patrol this stretch to remove litter and debris, contributing to a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming environment for all who travel through the area. In recognition of this long-standing commitment, PennDOT has installed a sign at the intersection of Edgewood and Makefield Roads, honoring MWA as the official sponsor of this section of highway.
This initiative reflects our mission to serve the community not only through fundraising and advocacy but also through hands-on projects that make a tangible difference. We’re proud to roll up our sleeves for a cleaner tomorrow—and we welcome new volunteers to join us in this effort!
