Lending a Hand to A Women’s Place: Meeting Needs with Heart

The Makefield Women’s Association proudly supports A Women’s Place (AWP), Bucks County’s only domestic violence shelter, through ongoing collections and acts of care throughout the year. Our members organize targeted donation drives to gather essential items requested by shelter residents, ranging from personal care products to children’s toys, clothing, and other necessities.

Beyond donation drives, MWA members assist families transitioning out of the shelter and into new apartments. Whether it’s helping source furniture, household goods, or comfort items, our goal is to ease the burden and help families feel safe and supported as they begin their next chapter.

During the holidays, MWA extends additional support by providing gifts and festive touches to make the season brighter for AWP families. These efforts are rooted in empathy, respect, and a shared belief that everyone deserves to feel valued and cared for—especially in times of transition and healing.
