Spreading Joy and Support: MWA’s Partnership with the FSA Homeless Shelter

The Makefield Women’s Association is honored to support the Family Service Association (FSA) Homeless Shelter through a variety of meaningful initiatives throughout the year. From monthly donation drives—providing pantry staples, baby essentials, summer camp items, and personal care supplies—to hands-on volunteer work, our members are committed to uplifting families experiencing housing insecurity.

One of our most cherished traditions is hosting an annual Halloween party for the children residing at the shelter. MWA members work hard to collect costumes and ensure that each child receives the costume of their dreams. If we don’t have it—we find it! It’s a night filled with laughter, treats, and memories that bring a sense of normalcy and magic during uncertain times.

In the spring, MWA hosts another celebration—complete with spring baskets and a visit from the Easter Bunny. These events are designed to bring joy, spark imagination, and remind families that they are seen, supported, and cared for.

Beyond celebrations, our members also lend helping hands behind the scenes. From organizing storage areas and decorating for teen events at FSA’s other sites to jumping in wherever needed, we’re proud to be part of a community that shows up with compassion and purpose.
